This is our inaugural post for the Circle K Ranch. We have caved into the bog craz and created this site to keep family, friends, and past woofers up to date on all the haps at the ranch.
We will be posting pictures of the progress with the crayfish -two ponds running and counting! Other projects around the rest of the place, pictures of the various woofers and their art and of course -lots and lots of photos of the dog.
If you have any crackin' photos of the place you would like posted -please email them to Max.
At the moment (well not this moment its dark out) we are trying to get the rest of the ponds dug. We get going and then there is some kind of epic weather occurrence (we were attacked by hail! oh the poor poor tomatoes) and we are back to waiting for the ground to dry again. It dries, we dig, get hopeful that the weather will hold, then the forecast is for drizzle and it pours for two days. Being a farmer is hard!
Last week was all about moving rocks and gravel - just the two of us, 2 shovels, one trailer, 9 loads and unloads and a boat load of pain killers for our poor backs and then it rained and truthfully we weren't 100% sad.
This week we have been enjoying the underfloor heating system which is now cranking out the heat instead of just teasing us like it did all last winter. SUCCESS!!
Sooooooo....Hope you enjoy the blog and we will try to actually take pictures and such fairly regularly but of course you've heard that before.
We have had lots of help. The list is long and trying to go back to include them all here is too much. So sorry to you all that are not mentions but Thanks. One of the things we don't like hearing is "Max, I have driven your car into a ditch" Yes thanks to Alexie as well.
